Each Term Waimea Intermediate focuses on a Big Picture that has a number of Enduring understandings that link to it.

·         Cultural ideas and values affect how we view and respond to the world.
·         Cultural diversity benefits and challenges the world.
·         Identity is formed by genetic, environmental and cultural factors.

Term 4 – Survival and Sustainability

Enduring Understandings:
·         All living things need to adapt to and interact with other living things and their environment in order to survive.
·         Natural Processes sustain planet earth.
·         All human actions impact on survival and sustainability.
